   Looking back at 2031, the Companionship industry saw several gains, as economies of scale and the advent of affordable nanotube circuitry brought increasing realism and interactivity to entry-level models. 

   Cross-over technologies and applications from the NannyBot industry have also driven sales and upgrades of Companionship bots.  The wildly popular "Sandwich" upgrade can be retro-grammed into any LERN-equipped Companionship model (typically post-2028) for a modest fee.  See "Software Upgrades" page for details.
